Leadership development is a focus of BOH. Young men learn how to become positive leaders in their school and local community through community service learning projects. The young men participate in career coaching by local and community women leaders.
Personal Power is a core element of the program. Young men learn seven dimensions of their personal power and how to use a critical thinking process to help them understand why they are powerful and how to use these tools to embrace success in school and life.
Throughout the program, young men are actively designing their future by using strategic planning and participating in activities that support them as they grow. At the end of the school year, their efforts are celebrated with a 'Rights of Passage' event where they showcase their learning and service projects.

The Boys of Hope Program™ is a weekly program designed for boys in grades 6-12.
The program is facilitated by men from the community who engage boys in a critical thinking, reflective, hands-on, experiential based process where they explore five core curriculum components: personal power, cultural awareness, manhood, leadership development, and service-learning.
The program also engages men from the community as “Social Fathers” to be role models, mentors and career coaches as a core strategy for motivating, inspiring, and educating boys on how to be a positive and productive man in your community and world.
